Sunny days, sweeping the clouds away
Come and play, at Katy's 2nd Birthday!
For Katy's birthday we celebrated at our house in Dallas with 60 guests in our backyard. I used a theme of bright colors for the party and tried to use as many polka dots and stripes where I could. Here are some of the details from the party:
I hand made the invites for the party with a stationary set I found at Michaels and a little ribbon. |
I made this wreath that hang on the front door with balloons and straight pins. |
Sign in welcome table inside with a special framed list (on the far left) with Fun Facts about Katy! |
Also on the welcome table was two yellow roses given to Katy from her Daddy. |
The welcome table had a sign in book for all the guests to leave a birthday message to the birthday girl. |
Smaller Sesame Street posters and pictures were set up around the party areas in the house for a little added detail |
Vintage Sesame Street pictures on the mantel in the living room |
Elmo's Mommy's Punch (a.k.a. Sangria) for the adults! |
Cupcake tower with Elmo plastic rings on the cupcakes as toppers. Katy's cupcake had a #2 candle for her to make her wish! |
"C" is for Cookie Cookie Monster loves his cookies and so did the kiddos at the party! |
Abby's Magic Fruit Wands |
Outside party table with snacks set up for the guests |
Elmo veggie tray with cherry tomatoes, carrots, and black olives. |

Grover's Garden Veggies |

We rented a Sesame Street bounce house from Bouncing House Friend in Dallas. http://bouncinghousefriend.com/index.php They are friendly, wonderful and affordable. This is the second year we have used them, and I highly recommend. |
The Elmo Pinata was a huge HIT with the kids! |
Bubbles with Big Bird was great fun for the kids!
They all loved the bubble machine which I'm sure we'll get a lot of use out of this summer. The pink bucket had small bubbles for the kids to blow and then take home with them! |
Ernie's Rubber Ducky Pond
Once we were ready to play the game we had baskets of prizes for whatever number ducky the kids picked up: stickers, small books, whistles, and play dough. |
Table set up outside filled with party favors for all the kiddos! |
Elmo loves his Goldfish, his Crayon too
Now you can take both home with YOU!
Party favors with Sesame street coloring books, a small box of crayons, and a pouch of Goldfish crackers. |
Make your own Elmo!
Each bag had homemade red play dough with googly eyes, orange noses, and pipe cleaners for a mouth, arms and legs.
I also included a recipe for the homemade play dough (that was made with kool-aid) for the parents to make their own later! |
All the guests had a CD of Sesame Street songs to rock out to on their way home! |
Backyard decorations with yellow tulle "Suns" that greeted guests as they came outside |
Sunny Days sign to go with my yellow "suns" |
Backyard fence decorations |
Happy Birthday sign with Katy's Elmo and a #2 |
Each kid had an Elmo with their name on it. We also had large Ks and 2s! |
Even Dorothy had a great time! |
Even Mommy and Daddy dressed the part!
Thank you for coming to Katy Street!
I have to give props to all the creative people out there on Pinterest for several of these ideas:
