Happy 60th Birthday, Champa!!

Happy Birthday Champa!
My Dad, a.k.a. Champa, turned 60 this past weekend. In true Dietrich fashion, a huge celebration was in order. My Mom threw an awesome party at Tony's Mexican Restaurant in Katy, TX. Great times, fun friends and wonderful memories were had by all. Enjoy the pictures!

Everyone sang Happy Birthday to Champa!

Back at the house, everyone watched (and laughed) as Champa opened his gifts!

We all sang and Champa made a wish

In honour of the 30+ years Champa had a mustache...

...everyone had a mustache of their own!

Then we all played a game of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey!"

It was Katy's first time to meet her Great Uncle Donnie, who came in all the way from Florida for the celebration!

Daddy Daughter Date Night

Katy went on her first date!

Lucky for me it was with someone I approved!

The Chick-Fil-A in our neighborhood does a "Daddy Daughter Date Night" once a year. Rich made reservations for 6:30 last Saturday. With your reservation you get a table at Chick-Fil-A (complete with tablecloth), waited service, a goodie bag with all types of "cow" goodies, and even a horse and buggy ride!

They even had a Cow at the restaurant (a guy dressed up, of course). Didn't get a photo opportunity with him as Katy does not want much to do with guys in costumes.

It was such a fun night for Daddy and Katy, and Mommy enjoyed her quiet time at home with a night off!

Yummy!

Ice Cream for dessert!

Notice the long-stem red rose? All the lovey ladies got to take one home!

Ballerina Girl

It's official - Katy is a Ballerina!
Guess that makes me a Dance Mom...

Katy had her first ballet class tonight. It was a rough start, but things got a bit better as the class progressed. For starters, the class had 25 girls in it!! Not to mention only 3 instructors. Katy was the youngest, and (like any 1 year old) freaked out when Mommy left the room. She spent the first half of the class crying in the corner. Poor Baby.

As the music played on, she saw other girls having fun and she did join in... but only the close supervision of one of the instructors. All in all, it was an interesting class. We'll see how next week goes! Until then, enjoy these pictures (pardon the poor pic quality... Moms have to watch through a window, and I was trying not to be seen by Katy!)
